Note From Darren:

A Bunch of Beatniks Riding a Rocket celebrated its one year birthday on January 17th. I was trying to think of an appropriate way to celebrate this occasion and decided that another compilation was in order. Since Bunch Of Beatniks is basically a home to lost releases that never find a proper means of release, I thought it would be appropriate to make an entire compilation out of individual songs that have no place else to go. I wrote a bunch of my favorite bands and was floored at how quickly I received these songs back. The whole compilation came together in less than 2 weeks. If you have ever been part of a compilation before you know how truly amazing this is! The songs range from lost treasures that never found a home to covers of beloved songs, from failed experiments to awesome experiments and even some demos of things to look forward to in the future. I hope you enjoy all of these songs that have finally found a proper home, and I hope you will keep on enjoying A Bunch of Beatniks Riding a Rocket for years to come.

Whoa. Quite a tracklist! I was not expecting most of these bands. A Masters song I don't know? A BSL song I don't know?? A song by my own group that I only found out about yesterday???

Funny -- one of the songs I was considering sending was a cover of "Teenage Caveman". How funny would that have been?

It's like my favorite song of all time. Way to go, Mike! Way to go, Darren! WAY TO GO, EVERYBODY!

hey thanks Ian! i was going to cover 'Bury the Hammer' but changed my mind and did Teenage Caveman at the last moment simply because you can't deny how good that song really is.

Thanks Darren for having me as a part of this. Way cool!

I think there's a double http in the link to the zip file or something. It's not downloadable right now.

I strongly suggest that anyone reading this should go to Shelby S.'s website, there, as I happened to do so and found a label that I'm very glad that I found, and some songs which I was happy to hear, particularly Shelby's...so, always a good time.

Man, I wish I could have been included in something as cool as this! Masters Of The Hemisphere rules.

I think my fave on this is Pierre Pierce by The Poison Control Center - genius. If anyone thinks I might be worthy in the future you can check out one of my Tiki Bongo songs here:

Any feedback would be sweet.

Be nice!
