hello hello:

the recordings that have become affectionately known as 'someplace between first & last' started life as a simple recording exercise...my original intent was to see if i could record drums to my songs (i dont play or own drums, and never had even tried before these recordings) after my last band, ciampi--pronounced 'champy', my mother's maiden name--had disbanded...they were never meant to be heard by anyone, ever; maybe that's why there seems to be a certain energy and lo-fi looseness that twee rockers 'n' indie poppers seem to respond to..i dunno really...i do know that these recordings were equal parts total frustration and immense satisfaction...tho at times the drums shamble along, i remain pleased with how these tunes turned out...i hope you do too...
